One of my most cherished gifts this Christmas was probably the least expected. Certainly the most unusual. My friend Renee gave me a tiny pink coin purse from Harrods, filled with pocket change in British currency. Not an enormous sum—in fact, it probably totaled no more than a few dollars.

Yet the sight of those modest coins tumbling around in that coin purse put an enormous smile on my face. It wasn’t so much the monetary value of the collection of coins as what they represented. Adventure. I have no specific plans to travel to London in the near future, but I know I will go back. And Renee’s gift is her belief in that dream.
