I don't always have an issue with Monday. It's like a fresh start, one day closer to awesome things like the Romantic Times Convention or my birthday. ;)
On the other hand, Monday is when all those pesky tasks you discovered over the weekend need to be dealt with--making doctor's appointments, calling the insurance company, or going to the bank. For most people, the weekend means a break from work.
For me, it comes down to what I do, not when I do it. I have the luxury of going to a late dinner and movie in the middle of the week and sleeping in an hour the next day, or of working in the early morning hours when I have insomnia and then sleeping until noon. So relaxing? I do it when I can. One of my favorite ways to unwind is funny internet pictures and videos. In five minutes they offer a laugh and a quick pick-me-up, re-energizing me for more work.
So here are your Monday smiles:

How do you relax and unwind to gear up for work? Please help me expand my toolbox of tricks!
After all these years my preferred method of unwinding is still a good book. I hate Mondays - I work, tho only part time. I don't exercise on Monday night or plan anything productive. I pick up Diva from school and that evening I do what I want (which tonight will be plotting and brainstorming.)
ReplyDeleteToday was hard because we stayed at our friends' annual SuperBowl party.
Since I'm retired I'm sort of unwinding from already being relaxed. In the old days, I used to love to get a bowl of popcorn and read the paper.
ReplyDeleteWell, reading definitely unwinds me, but these days it doesn't get me ready for work--just the opposite, in fact! I have to keep my nook far away from my desk. A glass of wine might serve both purposes, I guess. Or coffee, if I'm looking to get wound up, instead. *g*
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty unwound in general these days...which is not entirely a good thing!
