Friday Recipes: Delicious Drinks

Cool off this summer with one of these tasty drinks.

SANGRIA

What you need:

1 cup orange juice
1/3 cup lime juice
1 750 ml bottle dry red wine
1/3 to ½ cup sugar (I use less so it’s not so sweet, but adjust to your taste)
Ice cubes
Orange slices
Lime slices

Directions:

In pitcher, stir together orange and lime juices, add wine and sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved. Cover and chill for 3-24 hours. Serve over ice and garnish with orange and lime slices.

Homemade Ice Cream...in a Bag! (The perfect ingredient for a delicious root beer float!)

What you need:

1/2 cup half-and-half
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1 sandwich ziploc bags
1 gallon ziploc bags
3 cups crushed ice
1/3 cup rock salt

Directions:

Put first 3 ingredients in the smaller Ziplock bag and seal bag (Make sure it is tightly closed!). Put ice and rock salt in the larger bag and then add the filled small bag. Seal the large bag. Squeeze bag until ice cream is thickened, about 10-15 minutes. Remove small bag, unseal, and eat with spoon. No need to even dirty a bowl!
